Entrepreneurship training is becoming increasingly popular at professional universities and colleges, drawing many young people due in part to the way these schools market their courses, which leads many people to feel that it is a surefire way to get something doing after training.

In this situation, a young girl I coach just came into my office to tell me she was planning to study entrepreneurship through online courses at a private university.

During our conversation, I informed her about the following aspects of entrepreneurship that she was unaware of:

Entrepreneurship revolves around vision and dreams

The first question I ask folks who come to me for entrepreneurship training is about their dream. If you don't have a dream, I believe pursuing entrepreneurship courses is a waste of time. You must have the entrepreneur's spirit within you for any entrepreneurial training to be fruitful and meaningful.

Service-Centric Mindset

Entrepreneurship is about providing services. When individuals think of entrepreneurship, the first thing they think of is their income and how it would help them meet their wants, which is the wrong perspective.
The primary goal should be to serve the people who will benefit from your solution. It is about stewardship and how prepared you are to serve others. If you are unable to serve gladly, entrepreneurship is not for you. If you prefer to wait for orders before acting, entrepreneurship may not be for you. The first step is to build a serving habit.

Entrepreneurship is characterized by a problem-solving orientation

You are an entrepreneur because you solve other people's difficulties. People are willing to pay to solve their problems, not the other way around. If you are unconcerned about people’s problems, then entrepreneurship is not for you. It starts at the root. It must be located deep within you. To fix someone's situation, you must feel his sorrow, which is not the same as apathy.

Entrepreneurship is an action-oriented approach

If you are not action-driven and action-oriented, you will struggle to be a successful entrepreneur. Those who keep thinking about what to do without taking any action cannot be entrepreneurs since what you do is more important than what you think. Think less, act more.

Understanding the fundamentals of entrepreneurship can help potential entrepreneurs embark on a road of purpose, innovation, and success.
